Fewer People, Everyday Rhythms

A Strategy to Change The World

Matthew 28:19–20 (NLT) 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

MAIN IDEA: By implementing the methods of Jesus, His church will be better equipped to carry out His mandate of making disciples.

MAIN METHOD: Jesus sought to reach the masses by making a relatively small number of disciples who in turn went out and also made disciples.

Principles guiding our disciple making efforts today:

Like Jesus, your short life around your God-given purpose & mission.

Luke 19:10 (NLT) 10 ”For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

Like Jesus, find & focus on a people.

Luke 6:13 (NLT) 13 At daybreak he called together all of his disciples...chose twelve of them to be apostles.

Like Jesus, share your rhythms.

CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION:

  1. Why do you think churches like ours tend to focus on larger evangelistic “outreaches” rather than on smaller more personal efforts?

  2. From your view, what do most Christians seem to order their life around?

  3. If someone followed you around all day, what might they notice about what your life is ordered around?

  4. Why do you think Jesus’s everyday discipleship strategy is so impactful?

  5. Who are the people around you who you could find & focus on and share your everyday rhythms with?
