In Our Love (2/3)

Enjoying God

Main Idea || God has given us the church to help us enjoy him.


1 John 4:11–13 (NLT) 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 13 And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.


In our Christian community, we fully enjoy God‘s .

John 13:34–35 (NLT) 34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

We enjoy God better when we & love.

So what now?

1. Pray with someone.

2. Listen to the singing.

3. Notice people when you receive communion.

4. Invite someone for a meal & express your love & affection for them.

1. When you think of the action words describing your relationship with God, do you ever think of the word “enjoy”? If not — why?

2. Are there any ways you can think of that God’s love for you was seen & enjoyed in the way someone loved you?
