Overview

The hope and certainty needed to thrive in today’s world of anxiety, fear, and instability are found deep within our Chrsitians faith.

Hope in a Shaken World

1 Peter 1:3–4 (NLT) 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

1. The of hope — God's mercy.

  • Titus 3:5-7 (NLT) 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.

2. The for hope — the resurrection of Jesus.

3. The of hope — an eternal inheritance.

  • 1 Peter 1:4,9 (NLT) …and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

  • 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.

What Now?

  • Inspect your source of hope.

  • Live with certainty in an unstable world.

The Ground of Hope — The Resurrection
