Becoming Like Jesus: Do As I’ve Done

SERVICE (Def) Joining Jesus in meeting needs and showing love through humble action.


Big Idea – Following Jesus means learning to notice what others overlook and joyfully meeting needs through humble, everyday acts of love.


Jesus’ stooped down to clean .

John 13:1 (NLT) So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples' feet…

Jesus gave up divine privilege to clean .

Philippians 2:6–8 (NLT)

“Our greatest need for cleaning isn’t our dirty feet. It’s our sinful hearts. Before Jesus stretches out His hands to bear our sins, He stretches out His hands to wash our feet.”

Your humble posture is .

John 13:14–15 (NLT) And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.
