Do Not Lose Heart

2 Corinthians 4:1-18

Don't forget . v. 1

Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this minstry, we do not lose heart. 2 Corinthians 4:1

There is an who will try to distort the truth. v. 2-4

This life is not about . v. 5-6

Remember, our Message is not about ourselves; we're proclaiming Jesus Christ, the Master. 2 Corinthians 4:5 The Message

### God wants to use my to help others. v. 7-9, 15

Keep focused on the . v 16-18

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 2 Corinthians 4:16-17

Questions for Discipleship Groups

  • Are you more encouraged or discouraged during this season?

  • Has it been a season where you’ve forgotten God’s mercy (v. 1)?

  • How aware are you of the enemy who attempts to discourage you (v. 2-4)?

  • In v. 5-6 we read that when we make our life just about ourselves, we can lose heart. What prevents you from becoming too self-focused?

  • Do you agree with Rick that your greatest pain could be your greatest ministry (v. 7-9)? Why or why not?

  • In a culture that promotes here and now living, how can you keep your eyes fixed on the eternal (v. 16-18)?
