Power/Benefits of Thanks Giving There is unlimited power available to those who believe. Mark 9:23 (TPT) 23 Jesus said to him, “What do you mean ‘if’? If you are able to believe, all things are possible to the believer.” Belief transforms a request into a reception. Mark 11:23-25 (NIV) 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. God’s plan for activating power by belief – developed giving of thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 TPT [18] And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God's perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 AMPC [13] Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak, 14] Assured that He Who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise us up also with Jesus and bring us [along] with you into His presence. 15] For all [these] things are [taking place] for your sake, so that the more grace (divine favor and spiritual blessing) extends to more and more people and multiplies through the many, the more thanksgiving may increase [and redound] to the glory of God. 16] Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day. 17] For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], 18] Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting. James 1:17 TPT [17] Every gift God freely gives us is good and perfect, streaming down from the Father of lights, who shines from the heavens with no hidden shadow or darkness and is never subject to change. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 TPT [18] And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God's perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 TPT [6] Don't be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, [7] then God's wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ Luke 17:16-19 TPT [16] When he found Jesus, he fell down at his feet and thanked him over and over, saying to him, “You are the Messiah.” This man was a Samaritan. [17] "So where are the other nine?" Jesus asked. “Weren't there ten who were healed? [18] They all refused to return to give thanks and give glory to God except you, a foreigner from Samaria?” [19] Then Jesus said to the healed man lying at his feet, "Arise and go. It was your faith that brought you salvation and healing." 1 Timothy 6:6-8 (NIV) 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Psalm 136:1 TPT [1] Let everyone thank God, for he is good, and he is easy to please! His tender love for us continues on forever! Psalm 126:1-3 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Psalm 84:11 No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Psalm 138:1 I will give You thanks with all my heart; Ecclesiastes 7:10 AMPC [10] Do not say, Why were the old days better than these? For it is not wise or because of wisdom that you ask this. Psalm 105:1-3 AMPC [1] O give thanks unto the Lord, call upon His name, make known His doings among the peoples! [2] Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His marvelous deeds and devoutly praise them. [3] Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek and require the Lord [as their indispensable necessity]. James 1:26 If someone believes they have a relationship with God but fails to guard his words then his heart is drifting away and his religion is shallow and empty.
