Overwhelming Proclamation With an invading force is a purpose of removing any resistance by overwhelming superior force. It’s not enough to just occupy, though. The real purpose isn’t accomplished until the populace loses any will to oppose, and in fear submits to the foreign dominance. While the armies may be moving across the land, as long as there is yet a heart of rebellion and defiance, there is a possibility for rejection of the invaders intended dominance. There were German forces occupying much of Europe in World War II, but they never fully overwhelmed the people of the nations. There was a stubborn resistance that refused to take on the identity of the invaders, working with the Allied forces to expel them. They became a part of the completely overwhelming response that utterly crushed the Nazi forces. The enemy of our souls comes in with what appears to be an overwhelming force, moving ominously across the landscape of our lives. Though he may actually make a ruckus and bust a few things, his purpose is never accomplished until there is acceptance of his identity and service of his will. Where there is a tenacious resistance and rejection of his true purpose, there is potential for not only being free of his bondage, but becoming part of a God response of total dominance in overwhelming force. A significant part of a God response to any threat in life will be words that are coming out of the mouth. It’s not enough to be purified, partnered, powerful, and praying continually, there is yet a need for the release of a proclamation. The power that we have is that same power that delivered Israel and raised Christ from the grave. It is but waiting for the prepared servant to simply release that insurmountable power with a proclamation according to the Word of God. With a word from the scriptures and by the Spirit there is overwhelming force to totally dominate and destroy any threatening issue. Our weapons are mighty through God to completely bring down everything threatening stronghold. The battle is waiting on the proclamation for the power’s release. Then nothing will be impossible for God’s overwhelming force. Notes For an overwhelming God response – Purity | Partnership | Power | Prayer | Proclamation Levels of overwhelming force Our power far exceeds all others Ephesians 1:19 (NKJV) 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power Cannot compare – it’s a higher realm 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NKJV) 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, Romans 4:17 (NKJV) 17 (as it is written, “I HAVE MADE YOU A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; Belief expressed - overwhelms completely 1 John 5:4 (NKJV) 4 And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Your mouth paints the world your heart conceives/produces Romans 10:8 (NKJV) 8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): Proclamation: The release of overwhelming faith that renders every other armament obsolete 1. Praise Where there is praise – belief | No praise/no belief/overwhelmed 2 Chronicles 20:21-22 (NKJV) 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. Truth What God has said overwhelms temptation (to become overwhelmed by a lie) The Way – God’s overwhelming response 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Simple proclamation of what God has said completely overwhelms Matthew 4:1-11 (NKJV) 1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, "It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD.’ " 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER YOU,’ and, IN THEIR HANDS THEY SHALL BEAR YOU UP, LEST YOU DASH YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.' " 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘YOU SHALL NOT TEMPT THE LORD YOUR GOD.’ " 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND HIM ONLY YOU SHALL SERVE.’ " 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. Faith Creative power Romans 4:17 (NKJV) 17 (as it is written, “I HAVE MADE YOU A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; Saying – launched weapons of overwhelming mass destruction Mark 11:23 (NKJV) 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Proclamation of the gospel – spoken authority over all other threats. Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV) 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Overview: There are progressive levels of weaponry, with ascending superior overwhelming force. The exceeding power that raised Christ from the grave is what we’ve been given in Him. Because this power is far superior, it operates in a higher realm where what is spoken overwhelms. Where praise is lifted, belief is wielded against an inferior enemy. Though attacked in the natural, the real threat is the removal of our faith. Against the fiery darts of deception and lies, the proclamation of the truth overwhelms. Christ has given us the authority to proclaim the Gospel and launch the weapons of faith against every evil threat. Prayer: “Your power and might is so far superior to any that I can comprehend, resulting in creation and bringing life to the dead. Help me to see how this same power is now within me, enabling Your overwhelming response to any threat against my faith.” Declarations: I no longer wilt in my faith before the inferior threats of my enemy, but give place to the Greater One within in the raising of His praise. Though he may cause some noise and confusion, my heart will be set in established righteousness, far from fear and terror, and speaking only faith and victory. In Christ I have been positioned far above any threat, empowered and ready to release the resurrection power of God with overwhelming authority. I respond with joy to every rising of the enemy as I again get to see only victory in the God response from this prepared instrument of His glory.
