Celebrating 6 years at New Life Church! The most celebrated day is not when life begins at conception, but on that day when there is a breath of life at birth. Though there are many months of preparation and planning that make for it to be special, it is that moment when air is breathed and a cry comes out that a date is placed on the calendar that will become a celebrated anniversary, especially by loving parents. With every passing year, there will be noted growth and development that age brings as gifts are developed and paths are chosen. Many will participate in those celebrations as growing numbers of family and friends are woven into the life that is a continuation of that first breath. There was a vision from the Father formed long before in the hearts of many here at NLC. A common passion and purpose had been gathering those who would take in that first breath of life together as this body of believers. In each of the years that have followed, there has been noted growth and development as the seed of the Word, watered with worship and fellowship, as developed in the faithful care of the Spirit. Many more have gathered since then to join us in breathing and walking together in newness of life. With each addition, there have been welcome gifts that have enhanced and vitalized with increased growth and maturity. The precious heart of God that has been our life’s purpose all along is propelling us to effectively go to the world with the good news of new life in Christ. As we remain faithful to what God has begun in us as a body, there will be much yet to celebrate on the path that is His clear plan. Notes Celebrating 6 Years! Quote- Find some friends- Change the world- And have fun doing it. Billy Graham Gather – This is a work conceived in the heart of God and given breath through each joined life. Isaiah 49:1 (NLT) 1 Listen to me, all you in distant lands! Pay attention, you who are far away! The LORD called me before my birth; from within the womb he called me by name. Psalms 118:23-24 (NKJV) 23 This was the LORD's doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. 24 This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Church attendance is as vital to a disciple as a transfusion of rich, healthy blood to a sick man.” ― Dwight L. Moody ”The church is not a theological classroom. It is a conversion, confession, repentance, reconciliation, forgiveness and sanctification center, where flawed people place their faith in Christ, gather to know and love him better, and learn to love others as he designed.” ― Paul David Tripp Grow – He has been faithful to grow us for His purpose Philippians 2:13 (NLT) 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Hebrews 13:20-21 (NLT) 20 Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood— 21 may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Philippians 3:10,12-15 AMPC [10] [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] [12] Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. [13] I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, [14] I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. [15] So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also. We are called to help mature and grow Christians to be the Bride that He’s coming back for. Go – It taking us to the world to bring people back to God 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 (NLT) 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” We are CARRIERS of the gospel not just CONSUMERS. Discipleship isn’t a program or an event; it’s a way of life. It’s not for a limited time, but for our whole life. Discipleship isn’t for beginners alone; it’s for all believers for every day of their life. Discipleship isn’t just one of the things the church does; it is what the church does.” Bill Hull
