Partake While just staying home and consuming a meal prepared by loving hands is wonderful, there are times when it’s a blessing for the one with those hands to be taken where the meal is prepared for them. There are many options for this, some with menus, from which a choice of what will be prepared is selected, and others, where various selections are already placed in containers awaiting your choice. In all cases, there is already a sufficient provision of food for becoming fully satisfied. With all the availability, however, it is only when a selection is made and you take possession of it that it really becomes yours. At the moment you make the choice something happens with ownership. It goes from fully available to yours. When it really becomes not just yours, but part of you, though, is when it is consumed and the plate has no more of what you have taken as yours, to live, move, and breathe with you in every moment. There is a preparation for us from the Father that has been fully provisioned in Christ. When we come to the end of what we can do, there is an opportunity to discover those things that have been made available as promises. For every hunger in our life that requires a specific recipe, it is already prepared and awaiting our selection. Like all the food in that favorite restaurant, however, there is no real ownership of that promised thing until it is chosen as its accessibility and worth are made clear. With each choice, though, a clear transfer of ownership goes from provisioned to possessed. When all that He’s lovingly prepared fulfills not just our need, but His passion, His provision isn’t just taken, but consumed to become a part of who we are in every moment. Healing, abundance, wisdom, righteousness, and the right thing for every situation are already available, just in need of taking and consuming. We get to partake of His very nature as what He’s prepared is what we take and consume to touch every part of our being with His provision. It’s when everything on the menu has gone from available to who we are, that we are living completely in Him and all He’s promised. Notes Provision complete – waiting on partaking 2 Peter 1:3-4 (NKJV) 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Truth revealed John 1:14 (NKJV) 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Not enough to know the menu – must partake John 6:53-57 (NKJV) 53 Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. Provision in His body only effective when consumed 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NLT) 20 For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. Promises: Salvation Healing Abundance Wisdom Success Blessing How to partake Romans 10:10 (NKJV) 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Can only partake at one table 1 Corinthians 10:21 (TLB) 21 You cannot drink from the cup at the Lord’s Table and at Satan’s table, too. You cannot eat bread both at the Lord’s Table and at Satan’s table. What you do with what you’ve taken is critical Hebrews 6:4-6 (NLT) 4 For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— 6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. Partaking of the Father’s provision – requires priority Luke 14:16-24 (NLT) 16 Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. 17 When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.’ 18 But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.’ 19 Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.’ 20 Another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’ 21 “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22 After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ 23 So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. 24 For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’” Each partaking now will be continued in glory Revelation 19:9 (TLB) 9 And the angel dictated this sentence to me: “Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.” And he added, “God himself has stated this.” Faithfulness in partaking is critical for the ending. Hebrews 3:14 (NKJV) 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,
