Breaking Free from the Cosmos

Luke 4:5-6 And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world (Cosmos) in a moment of time, 6 and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will.” (ESV)

John 8:23 He said to them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world (kosmos); I am not of this world. (ESV)

Eph. 2:1-2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world (cosmos), following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—

Eph. 2:4-6 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (ESV)

1 Cor. 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world (cosmos), but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. (NKJV)

1 John 5:4-5 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world (cosmos). And this is the victory that has overcome the world (cosmos)—our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world (cosmos) except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (ESV)

Luke 12:29-31 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, or be worried. 30 For all the nations of the world (cosmos) seek after these things, and our Father knows that you need them. 31 Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. (ESV)

Gen. 14:18-20 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) 19 And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. (ESV)

Heb. 7:1-2 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” (NKJV)

Heb. 7:8 Moreover here frail mortal men receive tithes: there one receives them about whom there is evidence that he is alive. (WYMTH)

Heb. 7:8 In the one case tithes are received by mortal men, but in the other case, by one of whom it is testified that he lives. (ESV)

Matt. 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (NKJV)
