According to the Power

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV) 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

The identifier of God – His power

Psalms 66:2-4 (TPT) 2 Sing your songs tuned to his glory! Tell the world how wonderful he is. 3 For he’s the awe-inspiring God, great and glorious in power! We’ve never seen anything like him! Mighty in miracles, you cause your enemies to tremble. No wonder they all surrender and bow before you! 4 All the earth will bow down to worship; all the earth will sing your glories forever! Pause in his presence

Jesus’ own validation of unity with His Father - power

John 10:32-33 (TPT) 32 But Jesus said, “My Father has empowered me to work many miracles and acts of mercy among you. So which one of them do you want to stone me for?” 33 The Jewish leaders responded, “We’re not stoning you for anything good you did—it’s because of your blasphemy! You’re just a son of Adam, but you’ve claimed to be God!”

As Jesus’ claim of unity was validated by power, so will ours.

John 14:20 (TPT) 20 So when that day comes, you will know that I am living in the Father and that you are one with me, for I will be living in you.

Identifier of belief- power

Mark 16:17-18 (NKJV) 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Connection to Power – Belief

Mark 9:23 (NLT) 23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”

Activation of Power – What we Speak

Mark 11:22-24 (TPT) 22 Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you! 23 Listen to the truth I speak to you: If someone says to this mountain with great faith and having no doubt, ‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’ and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. 24 This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—believe that you have received it and it will be yours.

Prerequisite of activated power - understanding

Ephesians 1:19-21 (NLT) 19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. 21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.

Power to understand, believe, and proclaim with validation of Jesus Union

Acts 1:8 (TLB) 8 But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about my death and resurrection.”

Understanding our Unity comes in beholding Him by the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NKJV) 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

We are just the containers of power

2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT) 7 We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

Eloquence and charisma aren’t the identifiers – power is

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (NLT) 4 And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. 5 I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:17 (NLT)

17 For Christ didn’t send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News—and not with clever speech, for fear that the cross of Christ would lose its power.

1 Corinthians 3:6 (NLT) 6 I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.

Power is for going, undeterred

Luke 10:19-20 (TPT) 19 Now you understand that I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in this authority. 20 However, your real source of joy isn’t merely that these spirits submit to your authority, but that your names are written in the journals of heaven and that you belong to God’s kingdom. This is the true source of your authority.”
