Our Father's Business: In The World

Acts 1:8

By Pastor Chad A. Miller, January 24, 2021

REFLECTION READING: Isaiah 43:10-11

SUMMARY: To be a witness for Christ to our neighbors and the nations is to bring a message that is a marvel of simplicity: Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh; he died to pay for our sins; he was resurrected; now he is exalted in Heaven; he calls us to believe in him and so receive forgiveness of sins. This is good news. The strategy and tools can vary...but our motivation is Christ Himself!

**APPLICATION:

  • The Holy Spirit is ESSENTIAL
  • We are to BE WITNESSES
  • The church grows MISSIONALLY **

Quotes:

“Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man." -Piper

“The light that shines the farthest will shine the brightest at home.” -Dr. Oswald Smith

There can be no burden for distant unreached peoples without a burden for unreached neighbors. Christ demands a world heart!
