REFLECTION: PSALM 32:1-5 MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 6:7-8 BENEDICTION: 1 Corinthians 15:58 Summary: This famous account of the Adulterous woman displays the gloating of the self-righteous and the grace of our Savior. A NOTE ABOUT THE TEXT John 7:53-8:11. From our Doctrinal Statements: WE AFFIRM THAT The sixty-six canonical books of the Bible are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of man, and the only infallible guide for faith and living. See 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Psalm 119:89; Isaiah 40:8 Our passage today clearly conveys: Jesus has greater authority than Moses. Jesus completely forgives. THE SCENE (v2) Discourse (v3) Disruption (4-5) Descripton (6b) Distraction? (7-8) Direct Confrontation (9) Departure/Defeat (10) Dealing with sin JESUS IS TO FORGIVE See Matthew 28:18; Colossians 1:19-20 When she came to Him, she needed a Savior; He forgave her, then He gave her a command as Lord. JESUS IS TO FORGIVE He dispels the accusers. (Revelation 12:7-11) He has no condemnation for the forgiven. (Romans 8:1-2) He commands the forgiven to walk toward victory. (Galatians 5:16-17, 24) JESUS HAS ALL AUTHORITY OVER YOUR SIN. THERE IS MORE MERCY IN CHRIST THAN THERE IS SIN IN YOU. SINCE WE HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN; PART OF OUR “GOING AND SINNING NO MORE” MEANS TO BE FORGIVING! If Hurt People hurt people...THEN FREE PEOPLE should FREE PEOPLE.
