  • This year’s focus: The Kingdom of God
  • Last message: The King of the Kingdom — Jesus

👉 Today’s focus: AUTHORITY

Key Thought

We don’t just receive the benefits of the Kingdom… We are called to operate in the authority of the Kingdom.

✍️ Notes:

1.Jesus' Kingdom Authority

📖 Luke 4:18 — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me…”

📖 1 Samuel 16:13 — David is anointed and the Spirit of the Lord comes upon him

  • “Anointed” = set apart, empowered, authorized

  • In the Old Testament:

    • Kings were anointed
    • God’s Spirit came upon them

👉 Jesus = The Anointed One (The King)

Truth: Authority comes from God’s Spirit, not ourselves.

✍️ Notes:

2. Jesus Demonstrated Authority

📖 Matthew 7:29 — He taught as one having authority

📖 Mark 1:22, 27 — Authority in teaching and over unclean spirits

📖 Luke 4:32, 36 — His word carried authority and power

📖 Mark 11:28 — Leaders questioned His authority

📖 Matthew 28:18 — “All authority has been given to Me…”

  • He taught with authority
  • He commanded demons
  • Even His enemies questioned His authority

3. Authority Flows From Relationship

📖 John 5:19 — “The Son can do nothing by Himself…”

📖 John 8:28–29 — He speaks and acts as the Father directs

👉 Jesus said: “I do NOTHING on my own.”

Key Principle: Authority flows from connection to the Father

4. Our Kingdom Authority

📖 Matthew 10:1 — Authority over unclean spirits and disease

📖 Luke 9:1–2 — Power and authority to heal and preach the Kingdom

📖 Genesis 1:28 — Dominion given to mankind

👉 Jesus gave His disciples:

  • Power over demons
  • Authority to heal
  • A mission to advance the Kingdom

Truth: Jesus restored what was lost in Eden.

5. We Have the Keys (Delegated Authority)

📖 Matthew 16:19 — “I give you the keys of the kingdom…”

📖 Luke 19:10–11 — Jesus came to restore what was lost

👉 Keys represent:

  • Authority
  • Access
  • Responsibility

Binding & Loosing:

  • What you allow / stop matters
  • You act as a representative of the Kingdom

✍️ Notes:

## **6. Authority Requires Relationship**

📖 John 15:4–5 — “Abide in Me…”

👉 “Without Me you can do nothing”

True authority comes through:

  • Following Jesus

  • Denying self

  • Daily surrender

  • Time in:

    • Word
    • Prayer
    • Fasting

Warning ⚠️

📖 Acts 19:13–16 — Sons of Sceva

  • Using Jesus’ name without relationship = powerless
  • “Jesus I know… but who are you?”

👉 You can’t fake spiritual authority.

Final Encouragement

If you are a true believer:

  • You are called
  • You are anointed
  • You are authorized

👉 You are a threat to the enemy.

Together, we advance the Kingdom.

Reflection Questions

  1. Am I walking in Kingdom authority or just receiving Kingdom benefits?
  2. Is my relationship with Jesus strong enough to sustain authority?
  3. Where is God calling me to exercise authority in my life?
