Prayer of Confession/Assurance of Pardon

Gracious and merciful God, we want to keep Your word, and follow Your commands. We want to make space in our lives for You to dwell with us and to make a difference in our choices and our priorities. But sometimes our best intentions are not enough. We neglect Your word. We disregard Your commands.  And we fill our time and attention with that which is not of You.  Forgive us, O Lord, and grant us Your mercy. Show us Your grace, in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
