Free-will: God allows humans to act freely— we are not .

“See, I set before you today  and prosperity,  and destruction.”
-Deuteronomy 30:15

Moses understands the reality of our free-will. We get to freely make choices, for good and for evil.

“Now choose , so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.”
 -Deuteronomy 30:20a

Can God create a rock so heavy that even God can’t pick it up? Pastor David says no because this is logically inconsistent. What are other examples of logically inconsistent questions?

We boast in our , because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, .  -Romans 5:3-4a

Prayer of Confession

Merciful God, we come to you today knowing that our actions have caused others pain. Out of our selfishness for what we want, we have ignored the cries of others. In our own righteousness, we have failed to listen to understand other points of view. Forgive us for the many times we are oblivious to the effects of our own actions. Help us, O Lord, to set aside what we want in this world, and open our eyes and ears to the needs of others so that Your love, grace, and mercy can extend far and wide. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed ** I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. **
