Is There a Hell?

I've Always Wondered

By Rev. David Bonnema, June 19, 2022

9:30am

Welcome - Rev. David Bonnema

Opening Songs - “Good Good Father”/“Reckless Love” - Danny Odell

Children’s Message - Bailey Beam

Litany for Father’s Day - Leslie Matz

Sermon - “Is There a Hell?” - Rev. David Bonnema

Today’s Questions: Is there a hell? Would a generous God not give chances? What does the Bible say about reincarnation? Is that possible?

The word for hell in the New Testament is Gehenna. Ge = Henna = Hinnom (Valley of Hinnom)

Heaven is the of God

Hell is the God

“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Christ and through him to to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” —Colossians 1:19-20

“On no day will its gates ever be …” —Revelation 21:25

What is the significance of the gate of the New Jerusalem staying open forever?

Reincarnation is based on good works. The Christian faith is based on God's grace.

Song - “From the Inside Out”

Offering and Prayer of Thanksgiving

Closing Song - “How Great is Our God”

Benediction

Father God, like a loving Father, You know what is right for us, but too often we only want our way instead of Your way. Have mercy upon us when we turn from You.
