“To finish the moment, to find the end in every step of the road, to live the greatest number of good hours, is wisdom.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

The was a place of anxiety, and dark powers. A place of unknown things, and often times a place of death.

The represents all those things in life that cause us anxiety and fear as well. It symbolizes all those things that threaten our sense of security and disrupts our inner peace.

As Jesus is recorded walking on water, what it metaphorically illustrates is His ability to walk on these deep, threatening waters of chaos, and to not be worried by them or into them.

The more we have to , the harder it is to let go of our power and control and to fully trust God.

To let go is to admit , which means the outcome is not in my hands.

Offering and Prayer - Leslie Matz

Closing Song - “What a Beautiful Name”

Benediction

Prayer of Confession
God of tomorrow, we confess that we often waste our energy worrying about things that never happen. We fret over so many possible outcomes that we forget to experience what is happening in our present lives. Help us to remember that we cannot add a single moment to our lives by worrying about the future, and that no matter what our future holds, all will be well because You will be there with us. Help us to place all our trust in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray today, Amen.

Doxology

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
