Prayer of Confession
God of the Impossible, we come to you today to admit to having very little faith. We want to believe, then life sends us something that leads us into doubt and despair. We come up against obstacles so large that it is hard to see Your presence. Rescue us, O Lord. Turn us into believers who can withstand any storm with a strong faith, standing on Your promises, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.

Anthem - “Didn't My Lord Deliver Daniel” by Gilpin - Unity Choir

Sermon - “Live By Faith” - Rev. David Bonnema
Now faith is in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. —Hebrews 11:1

By Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.  —Hebrews 11:8

How did Abraham and Moses’ parents live by faith?

Live by faith, not by . —2 Corinthians 5:7

Who said that faith is like radar that sees through the fog?

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by , is dead. —James 2:17

May your faith spur you into action. May God work through you to make this world a better place.

Anthem - “This Touch of Love” by Schalk

Offering and Prayer

Doxology

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Closing Hymn - “Be Thou My Vision” - #339 Verses 1 - 3
