Sermon - “Posture of Gratitude”

changes everything!

Our God is a God of and wholeness. A God who intercedes on our behalf and works to bring about good in our lives again.

In order to maintain a posture of gratitude, we have to look at life circumstances and God is in control and have that better days are ahead.

What all do you have to be grateful for?

What small thing can you do each day to help maintain a posture of gratitude?

Hymn - “Come, Ye Thankful People, Come” - #551 Verses 1-3

Prayer of Confession
Generous God, today we come to confess our forgetfulness and our failure to thank You enough for all the miracles that surround us each day. We spend more time lamenting and complaining than we do being thankful. Remind us to be grateful each time we would rather grumble, for we do truly appreciate all the blessings we have been given to us through Your Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Offering and Prayer

Doxology - “Give Thanks” - STF #2036

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Closing Hymn - “Now Thank We All Our God” - #555 Verses 1-3

Benediction

Postlude - “Fanfare on the Doxology” arr. Bock
