David Bonnema Call to Worship - Rev. Dana Seiler Leader: The world is hard- our losses real, our grief tangible; People: Merciful God, quiet our rush to judgment. Leader: The world is heavy- our anxiety clawing; our responsibilities large; People: Healing God, slow our impulsive actions. Leader: The world is a mystery- our faith kindling; our love blossoming; People: Loving God, work in our lives today. Hymn - “Come Sing, O Church, In Joy” -#430 - 4 Verses Prayer of Confession: Lord, we spend a lot of time and money to appear beautiful on the outside, but we often ignore the inside. We are filled with pride and self-righteousness. We are quick to pass judgment on others, but fail to see the same faults in ourselves. Teach us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Create in us a clean heart and help us lead lives worthy of being called a Christian, a follower of Christ, in whose name we pray today, Amen. Declaration of Forgiveness Passing of the Peace A Time for Stewardship Anthem - Unity Choir Sermon - “Character of a Christian” - Rev. David Bonnema Anthem - Unity Choir Offering and Prayer of Thanksgiving Doxology Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
