David Bonnema Call to Worship - Rick Ayers Leader: The Good Shepherd calls us to come and follow him. People: His voice speaks to each of us by name. Leader: We follow without fear, for the shepherd cares for us. People: The gates are open and the path is before us. Leader: Let us enter the gate with thanksgiving! People: We worship today with songs of praise! Hymn - “Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah” - #281 - 3 Verses Prayer of Confession: Lord, today we confess that we need a Good Shepherd. We wander off aimlessly, trying this, failing at that, and often wondering, after we have made a mess of things, “Where are you, O God?” Forgive us our arrogance and our ignorance. Help us to trust you. Help us to remember that you lead us in the paths of righteousness and gave us the freedom to choose to follow. Give us strength and courage to make that choice each day. Bring us joy and peace in all the work that you have for us to do, in the name of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, Amen. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
