φρονέω = be of the same , be harmonious in thought

Priority #1: value others above ourselves Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. —Philippians 2:3-4

Real humility is not thinking less of ourselves; it is thinking of ourselves .

Priority #2: Set a Christlike example for the rest of the world Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure children of God without fault in a and crooked generation. —Philippians 2:14-15a

Don’t blend in. Stand out through your love, humility, and focus on others.

Then you will shine among them like in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. —Philippians 2:15b-16

What is one way you can stand out (and shine bright!) this week?

Call to Worship - Rev. Dana Seiler

  • Leader: Come and worship, followers of Jesus Christ,
  • People: We gather to worship the One who humbled Himself,
  • Leader: Who set aside glory and took on the form of a servant.
  • People: Who was obedient, even to death on a cross.
  • Leader: Who is exalted and given Him the name above every name,
  • People: Who is Jesus Christ our Lord, whom we worship today.

Hymn - “Crown Him with Many Crowns” - #151 - 4 Verses

Prayer of Confession:
Merciful God, we admit to being self-centered, believing that we are the center of our world, and that everything is always about us. We seek our own way, chasing recognition, power, and control. Forgive us for our pride and self-centeredness. Teach us to have the same mind as Christ Jesus, to look not only to our own interests, but to the needs of others. Humble us, O God, and bring us into Your grace, in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Doxology

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
