Where in your life does it feel like you are entering “a whole new world”?

I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. —Acts 20:24

What is the course Jesus wants you to run?

I have not anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. —Acts 20:33-34

What does coveting do to the heart?

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to than to receive.’ ” —Acts 20:35

Call to Worship - Rev. Dana Seiler Leader: Come, all who have been blessed by the generosity of God! People: We come, grateful for all we have received. Leader: Come, all who long to live with open hands and open hearts. People: We come, ready to give as freely as we have been given. Leader: Come to worship the Giver of every good gift! People: For it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Hymn - “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” - #464 - 3 Verses

Prayer of Confession:
Generous God, You tell us that it is more blessed to give, but we believe that we are more blessed when we receive. We worry there won’t be enough and that we must save it all for a time when we will need it ourselves. Forgive us for our fear and our selfishness. Teach us the joy of generosity, the fulfillment of knowing that others share some of what we have been given, and the blessing of knowing that what we give has made a difference. We pray all of this through Christ, who fully trusted You for everything, Amen.

Doxology

Affirmation of Faith - The Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
