Gleaning: the act of gathering crops from agricultural fields after the main harvest

When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God. —Leviticus 19:9-10

Why was gleaning commanded by God?

As it turned out, she was working in a field belonging to , who was from the clan of Elimelek. —Ruth 2:3b

Be like Boaz! Allow God’s blessing to flow through you to others.

Call to Worship - Greg Conrad

  • Leader: God meets us not only in grand moments, but in ordinary days.
  • People: We come to worship with everyday faithfulness.
  • Leader: While we are going about our daily lives,
  • People: God is preparing a path of provision and hope.
  • Leader: Come, let us worship the God who is present in every moment.
  • People: We will trust God's faithful hand at work among us.

Hymn - “For the Fruit of All Creation” - 3 Verses

Prayer of Confession:
Gracious God, we confess that we often overlook the sacred opportunities hidden within our ordinary lives. We seek dramatic signs of Your presence while neglecting the small glimpses. We grow impatient in our waiting, forgetting that You are at work even when results remain unknown to us. Forgive us for the times we have failed to trust You. Renew our hearts to serve faithfully where You have placed us. Open our eyes to the ways You are working through simple acts of love, generosity, and compassion. By Your Spirit, help us become people whose daily faithfulness creates space for Your redeeming work in the world. In Christ's name we pray. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith - From Unity’s CPJ Team:
We believe that we are followers of Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and entrusted by God, our Creator, to seek justice, speak up for the widow, the orphan, the immigrant, and the poor. We believe that we are guided by Jesus to love our neighbor as ourselves, to feed the hungry, refresh the thirsty, clothe the naked, tend the sick, and visit the imprisoned. As followers of God, we celebrate the diversity of God’s people and seek to build bridges of understanding and equality, trusting that God is still renewing the world through acts of mercy, courage, and love.
