Call to Worship - Kim Nichols

  • Leader: God calls us into unexpected places.
  • People: We come to listen for God’s call.
  • Leader: God calls us beyond what is comfortable,
  • People: We come ready to trust where God leads.
  • Leader: God calls us over and over with grace and purpose.
  • People: We come to answer God’s call.

Hymn - “Lead On, O King Eternal” - #447 - 3 Verses

Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, we confess that we sometimes fail to answer Your call. You call us to forgive, and we hold on to resentment. You call us to love, and we hold ourselves back. You call us to serve, and we wait for someone else to do it. You call us to go, and we run the other way. Sometimes we run because we are afraid. Sometimes we run because your way is not our way. And sometimes we simply do not want to go where You are leading. Forgive us, Lord. Meet us in our resistance. Give us courage to say yes, even when we do not know exactly where that yes will lead. We pray all this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
