Hymn - “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” - #356 Prayer of Confession: Generous God, we can’t help but hold on tight. We worry there won't be enough, so we stash away our time, our money, and our attention. We give when it's easy and hold back when it's not. We forget that what we have was never really ours to begin with. Forgive us for the times we've been stingy with your gifts, and for the times we've kept our hands clenched when we saw someone in need. Loosen our grip and soften our hearts. Teach us to trust that your well doesn't run dry. Make us people who refresh others, and who are refreshed ourselves through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
