Following Jesus Into an Unfair Job

1 Peter 2:18-25

Christlike suffering for righteousness applies to workers' submission to overseers.

Peter argues four points of Christlike suffering which apply to the workplace:

I.   God's Command: Slaves, Respectfully Submit (1 Peter 2:18)

II.  God's Reason: Righteous Suffering Commended (1 Peter 2:19)

III. God's Purpose: A Christlike Walk (1 Peter 2:21)

IV.  God's Model: Jesus' Suffering Benefitted You (1 Peter 2:22-25)

       A. Example: Christ Chose Faith Over Sin (1 Peter 2:22-23)

       B. Purpose: Christ's Suffering Saved us From Sin (1 Peter 2:24)

       C. Result: Christ's Suffering Brought Us Home (1 Peter 2:25)
