Jesus

The key to a solid theology and an eternal life with Jesus is us asking and answering the right questions about Jesus.

Your life and eternal destination will ultimately come down to how you answer the question? Who is Jesus?

There are approx 8 billion people on the planet and there are over 2.5 billion followers of Christ around the world.

Estimations show there are more than 200 Christian denominations in the U.S alone.

The internet says there is a staggering 45,000 Christian denominations globally.

What are denominations?

Denominations are divisions of the Christian faith.

Man spends time dividing over small doctrinal issues.

Everybody thinks their way is the right way.

John 17:20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

All the divisions of Church come by asking minor questions and coming up with different answers.

Doctrine is important but the question you have to answer is who is Jesus to you!

Jesus looks at his disciples and he asks the same question He asks you and I.

Who do you say that I am?

Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

You have to come to a place of a heart confession of a place based in reality that says Jesus you are the Christ the Son of the living God.

Jesus is different than we think.

Many people prejudge Jesus.

They have a predetermined ideal of who Jesus is, how He views sinners and how He views holiness.

Your opinion of Jesus is based on your experience in life.

All of our theology is based out of experience and then it gets adjusted as we have new experiences.

We tend to superimpose our experience on who Jesus is until we get to know him.

When you get to know Jesus and experience his love and compassion.

When you get to know him you’re gonna find out he’s totally different than you think.
