Honoring Mothers

Thank you to all the moms and ladies of Destiny Church.

2 Timothy 1:5-7 when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

One of God's top Ten Commandments is to honor mothers.

Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

We honor the position even if the person is flawed.

All parents have issues.

1. We are to honor our moms because God picked them to parent us.

2. We wouldn’t be alive without them.

3. God used your parents to make you unique.

Psalms 139:13-14 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

God used their DNA to make you special.

The one thing we all have in common is we all have a mom.

4 Things To Hand Down To Your Children:

  1. Sincere, Faith.

Live free from pretense or deceit;

  1. Live with the power of the Holy Spirit.

It’s the power for the miraculous.

  1. Love With Unconditional Love.

Unconditional love is agape love.

1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

  1. Keep a sound mind, live self disciplined.

2 Timothy 3:14-15 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Whatever you are consistent in will be a foundation for your children.

Be consistent in prayer.
