Pursuit Part One

By Pastor Greg Ball, December 29, 2024

Change is in 2025, but growth is .

We must build our lives on the foundation of the unchangeable.

Luke 6:47-49

Change is coming and the best way to navigate it, is to get your life planted on the rock Christ Jesus.

Malachi 3:6

Hebrews 13:88

Genesis 1:1-3

Isaiah 43:18-19

I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

Revelation 21:5

Lamentations 3:22-23

Change is inevitable, but growth is optional.

James 4:8

Jeremiah 29:13

Matthew 7:7-8

Zachariah 1:3

Deuteronomy 4:29-30

All through scripture, the weight of responsibility is on us.

You can be as close to God as you want or as distant as you will allow in 2025.

He’s not going to force the relationship, but he gives us the invitation.

Matthew 11:28-30

Proximity to God is the cure for everything.

1 John 3:2

We are all in a process of becoming more like him and less like old version of you.

3 WAYS TO DRAW NEAR

1. Commit to read through the Bible this year.

The best version of your life will happen as you study, meditate and apply the Word of God.

It takes discipline!

Psalm 119:15-16

Psalms 119:37

Your relationship with Jesus will be determined by your hunger for, and discipline, in the word of God.

2. Join us in our 21-Day fast.

Save the dates and join us for the fast. January 5-26

Fasting is the most effective way to get you out of the way.

Matthew 6:16-17

When you fast, we build an altar to lay down the old version of you.

3. Set daily appointments for prayer and worship.

Eliminate the distractions and excuses that can hinder us.

Set a goal of 60 to 90 minutes of un interrupted prayer every day.

Setting an appointment to meet with God in prayer .

Benjamin Franklin said “I never knew a man that was good at making excuses who was good at anything else”.

“It’s the small and consistent actions that no one else sees, that will take you where everyone else wants to be.” - Dr Henry Cloud

3 ENEMIES OF PURSUIT

Mark 5:25-34

1. The doubts and fears that “nothing is really going to change”

Romans 10:11 AMP

“For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] will not be disappointed [in his expectations].”

“The remarkable thing about God is that when you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God, you fear everything else.” Oswald Chambers

2. Don’t let your past titles land on your heart.

A label is a descriptive word to describe an objects perceived nature, content or price.

A lie believed as true, will effect you as if it were true.

What you will internally vision, You will externally follow!

3. Weariness and weakness.

Faith will pursue God even in weariness, even in weakness.

She pursued through physical, emotional, and financial exhaustion.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10, TPT

But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me. 10 So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment— when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger.

Weakness can become a portal to God’s power.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

In the pursuit, the purpose is released.
