Dig A Well

By Pastor Greg Ball, February 23, 2025

Our assignment is to release a river of God out of our bellies to our family, friends and our community.

John 7:37 NKJV

We need to be a spiritual watering hole for the dry and thirsty people of our city.

We need to locate people who are far from God, and bring them into a personal relationship with the Savior of the world.

It is important to me that everything rise to a high level of excellence.

To operate in excellence is expected by God.

God deserves our . God deserves our ! God deserves our .

The sound, the message, the experience needs to be at a level that will attract the lost to our church.

But one thing you cannot find everywhere is the one thing that people are really thirsty for.

People all over our city are dry and thirsty for Living Water!

We are the vanguards of the river of God to our city.

We need to be rivers of living water.

We exist to host his presence.

There’s nothing wrong with that, but it can become a dangerous place.

When it’s about your intimacy with God, often times we become inward focused.

The church must keep an outward focus.

Matthew 28:18 NKJV

The church was never meant to be an aquarium.

Is a dangerous place when you become a reservoir and not a river.

A reservoir is a large natural or artificial lake used as a water supply.

What God is doing in us, must flow through us to others.

The river of God is always about the culture.

The river is always about getting outside the walls of the church to the broken people.

Ezekiel 47:1-9 NKJV

The salt sea represents the culture.

In the natural realm when fresh water hits salt water, the fresh water is contaminated.

But in the kingdom of God it’s different!

The fish represents the .

We are the stewards of the river of God for our families and city.

How to dig a well?

1. Start with prayer.

1 Timothy 2:1 NKJV

2. Develop a consistent prayer pattern in your life.

Galatians 6:9 NKJV

3. You will release the river of God through prayer!

Leonard Ravenhill,

Most Christians pray to be blessed and few pray to be broken.

No man is greater than his prayer life.

The pastor who is not praying is playing; The people who are not praying are straying.

We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here, we fail everywhere

Prayer is not a preparation for the battle; it is the battle!

The secret of praying is praying in secret.

A sinning man will stop praying, and a praying man will stop sinning.

The world out there is not waiting for a new definition of Christianity; it's waiting for a new demonstration of Christianity.

Matthew 21:13 NKJV
