The Power of Prayer Part One

By Pastor Greg Ball, August 10, 2025

Prayer is essential to our faith.

It’s dangerous to compare your spirituality to others because you will either be intimidated or impressed by them.

Over 1000 references to prayer in the Word of God.

Here’s a few things that God‘s word says about prayer!

Ephesians 6:18 [NKJV] Ephesians 6:18 [AMP] Luke 18:1 [NKJV] Matthew 7:7-8 [NKJV] John 14:13 [NKJV] Matthew 21:21-22 [NKJV] James 5:16 [NKJV]

A Righteous person is someone who has been made right by what Jesus has done.

Isaiah 64:6 [NKJV] Romans 3:10 [NKJV] 1 John 5:14-15 [NKJV] 1 John 1:8-9 [NKJV] 2 Peter 3:9 [NKJV]

1. Commit to it

Mark 1:35 [NKJV]

Jesus prayed privately and publicly!

Luke 4:16 [NKJV]

How is the consistency of your prayer life publicly and privately?

Do you have a time and a place for prayer?

Have you developed a pattern of prayer?

Christians must have discipline.

Discipline is self control.

What starts in discipline turns into delight!

Matthew 21:12-14 [NKJV]

There was a cleansing, there was prayer then a release of power.

Cleansing is repentance. Prayer is what I’m calling us to!

Charles Spurgeon

“As the prayer meeting goes, so goes to church!”

“When God is getting ready to do something great in humanity, He always starts with a group of praying people.”

I want us to begin 21 days of of prayer for 1 hour a day

2. Feel it (Pray with compassion)

Mark 1:40-42 [NKJV]

Prayer is different when you pray from a place of compassion.

I’m asking all of us to get a person that needs Jesus and pray for that person for 21 days with compassion!

Commit to praying for them for 21 days for 3 minutes a day!

3 minutes a day out of your 1 hour a day prayer!

3. Walk it out

Matthew 9:35-38 [NKJV]

For the next 21 days, let’s pray all over our city.

Let’s walk it out for 21 days!

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 [NKJV]

The weapon of prayer is powerful.

If we commit to prayer and pray with passion, we will experience, divine encounters and notable miracles!
