Proverbs 10:10

He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

Matthew 9:35-38 NLT

35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.  36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.  37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.  38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

John 4:31-42 NKJV 31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” 33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

John 4:4-8 4 He had to go through Samaria on the way.  5 Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.  6 Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.  7 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.

27 Just then his disciples came back. They were shocked to find him talking to a woman, but none of them had the nerve to ask, “What do you want with her?” or “Why are you talking to her?”  28 The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone,  29 “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?”  30 So the people came streaming from the village to see him.

A. You have fields not just a field.

35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!  38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”  40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.  41 And many more believed because of His own word. 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
