Who's Your One Part 2: I Pity the Fool

Micaiah Irmler

Psalms 14:1-7 NKJV

Question: What is more risky to believe in God or to believe that there is no God?

1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. 2  The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
3  They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.
4  Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the Lord?
5 There they are in great fear, For God is with the generation of the righteous.
6  You shame the counsel of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge.
7 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.

A Broken Argument

Question: Why is there evil and suffering in the world?

Question: Science and Faith seem to be at odds with each other.

Question: Today people complain that Christians are not Christian enough when they don’t believe Christianity to be true at all.

Your rejection is not a strong enough argument against the existence of God.

Disbelief in God takes as much faith as belief in God.

It takes more of a leap of to disbelieve in God than it takes to in God.

You can reason to a point of probability It takes personal commitment to get to certainty.

Remember: We don’t have a watertight argument we have a water tight person.

If God does not exist then why has it been so difficult to eradicate the belief that He does?

Quote: I would rather live as if God exists to find out that He doesn’t than to live as if he doesn’t exist to find out that He does. ~Blaise Pascal

A Brutal Assessment vs. 2-1-3

1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. 2  The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

Luke 19:10 For the son of man is come to seek and to save that which is lost.
