Angel Casillas

Romans 12: 1-13

There’s a big misconception Today: a lot of well meaning Christian’s believe that the local church is simply a gathering to attend, rather than a Body to join. This concept is actually completely contrast to what the New Testament and Jesus taught.

Why does Church Membership Matter?

Romans 12: 1-13 We need to understand that this is a .

1. It’s .

  • God established an order.
  • Converted, Baptized, Added, Involved.
  • One Body, Many Members, Christ is the head.
  • Identify with Christ through the local church (Ephesians 5:23)
  • Unattached Christians is not a concept in the Bible.
  • The language and culture of the New Testament church only make sense and become real as we meet as a church fellowship.

In order for the to function correctly, you need to know who’s a part of the family, then there is order. Without that it’s chaos.

  1. Allows us to encourage and serve one another v.6-13 - Identity ( ) gives us purpose, and purpose gives us direction.
  • We fulfill Gods design to use our gift.

3. Provides accountability Within the (Local Church).

  • To each other (Hebrews 3:13)
  • To our Leaders (Hebrews 13:17)

Conclusion: Our goal isn’t to grow the membership of Southridge Church, but to equip, lead and guide believers to join Gods supernatural desire and plan to save and remake a broken world.
