Sharing A Common Grace

By Pastor Aaron Austin, September 25, 2022

Scriptural Focus: Acts 2:42-47

- “fellowship” or “communion” (Acts 2:42)

  • Sharing in a (Koinos) life together

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Acts 2:44

CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP: WHAT DO BELIEVERS SHARE IN COMMON?

- recognition of our need for reconciliation to God. (Acts 2:37)

- our conversion and subsequent new life in Christ. (Acts 2:38)

- the unifying presence of God that enables us to work for the “common” good. (Acts 2:38b; see also 1 Corinthians 12:3,7)

CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP: WHAT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE?

We are to one another (see Acts 2:42):

  • In the of - growing in Christlikeness
  • In - a participation in the lives of others
  • In the of - celebrating God’s goodness
  • In - building our relationship with God and each other.

WHAT HAS FELLOWSHIP MEANT TO YOU IN THE PAST? HAS YOUR UNDERSTANDING CHANGED AT ALL TODAY?

HOW “COMMON” THINGS ARE MOST IMPORTANT TO EXPERIENCE FELLOWSHIP?

WHAT OTHER THINGS DO WE SOMETIMES TRY TO BUILD OUR FELLOWSHIP AROUND? IS THAT GOOD OR BAD?

CONSIDER THE FOUR PRIMARY ACTIVITIES OF CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP. IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN THESE THINGS WITH OTHER BELIEVERS? ARE THERE ANY AREAS THAT YOU COULD GROW STRONGER IN PRACTICE? OR AREAS THAT WE NEED TO GROW STRONGER IN AS A CHURCH? (CONSIDER SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS WITH PASTOR AARON OR ANOTHER CHURCH LEADER)
