Grace with Us. “…but we had hoped…” Luke 24:21 Jesus meets us even when we are walking in confusion, sorrow, or doubt. Grace to Us. “…he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.” Luke 24:27 Jesus can speak to us through the scriptures and give us truthful perspective on what we are experiencing. Grace is to Us. “Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him…” Luke 24:31 Jesus reveals himself in the breaking of bread, not earned but freely given. Grace Us. “They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem.” Luke 24:33 Jesus sends us as witnesses, with “hearts burning within us”. Communion is… A means of grace — not just memory, but encounter. We come not because we are worthy, but because Christ is. This is His table.
