Many Stories. One Legacy

By Pastor Aaron Austin, May 18, 2025

Scriptural Focus: Acts 11:1-18

“Our lives are woven together through stories”

God’s always arrives before we do.

“You went into the house of uncircumcised men and ate with them.” (Acts 11:3)

The Spirit of Truth will your vision.

“Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.” (Acts 11:9)

Be open to stories of God’s grace.

“So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?” (Acts 11:17)

When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.” (Acts 11:18)

  • Will we be the kind of church that listens to the Spirit — even when it stretches us?

  • Will we have space for and welcome the stories that God is at work in?

Where might I be standing in the way of what God is doing, either in my own life or in someone else’s story?

When has the Holy Spirit expanded my understanding of God’s grace—especially in ways I didn’t expect?

What story is God writing through my life right now—and how does it connect to the greater legacy of our church?
