Scriptural Focus: 2 Samuel 9

Wounds can .

“What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?” 2 Samuel 9:8

King David is a good picture of God’s loyal love towards us:

Kindness that .

“Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” 2 Samuel 9:1

Grace that .

“…I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” 2 Samuel 9:7

There is a place at the for you!

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” John 15:9

  1. Begin by accepting your own place at the table.
  2. Commit to helping someone else find their seat at the table
  3. As the Church, be prepared to always help others find their seat at the table.

  1. If you were to give an honest assessment of where you are today, would you say that you feel “isolated” (physically, emotionally, or spiritually) because of fear, shame, or past wounds?
  1. How have you experienced the “covenant-kindness” of God?
  1. Who around you need to know they still have a place at the table? What would it look like to actively reflect the King’s heart this week? Would you commit to pray for this person and embrace opportunities to show them God’s loyal love towards them?
