Lord, Teach Us to Pray

By Pastor Aaron Austin, February 22, 2026

Scriptural Focus: Luke 11:1-13

Prayer was a non-negotiable in Jesus’ life. Jesus teaches his disciples to pray:

Your view of God will shape your prayer life more than any method ever could. Jesus is inviting us to pray from a place of belonging.

“Hallowed Be Your Name”

God is not , or controlled by us. He is - beyond our comprehension, completely good, completely trustworthy.

“Your Kingdom Come”

To ask for His kingdom to come is to our own.

“Give Us Each Day Our Daily Bread”

We are invited to bring our needs to the Father

“Forgive Us… For We Also Forgive”

In prayer is where relationships begin to be , first with God, and then with one another.

“Lead Us Not Into Temptation”

Father, watch my steps. Guard my heart. Keep me close to you.

Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.

Using the way in which Jesus teaches us to pray, write your own prayer here or in a journal. Consider how each phrase of the “Lord’s Prayer” invites you to pray.
