Jesus, my Teacher

Scriptural Focus: John 3:1-21

We tend to each relate to Jesus in a particular way over other ways in which we are invited to know Jesus:

  • (He saves me)
  • (He teaches me)
  • (He walks with me)
  • (He has authority over my life)

Discipleship is a continual process of and .

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)

“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. (John 3:9) Transformation often begins when we become humble enough to learn from and be by Jesus.

Coming Into the Light “Light has come into the world….” (John 3:19) Jesus did not only come to save us. He came to form us as the of God.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29)

Becoming a Learner of Jesus:

If you want to continue learning from Jesus this week, here are a few passages you might spend time with: Romans 12:1–2, Ephesians 4:20–24, Galatians 5:22–25, Galatians 4:19, and John 15:1–8.

As you read them, ask a simple question: What is Christ trying to form in me? And then pray that the Spirit of God will do His work in you as you seek to walk in obedience to Jesus.
