Gratitude that results in loud thanksgiving to Jesus is a distinctive mark of saving faith!

  1. MANY Come to Jesus to Get His Gifts (12-13)

12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”

  1. Jesus is Merciful and Gives Gifts to Many! (14)

14 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed.

  1. FEW Come to Jesus to Treasure HIM with Thanksgiving! (15-16)

15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.

17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? [literally, “the nine, where are they?”] 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?”

19 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well”

Romans 3:23-25a, 26 (ESV)

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25a whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith… 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
