God’s purpose for You is established in His provision for You The Relationship precedes the Rules Exodus 20:2 – “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. Exodus 12:3 – “Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household…” The first real commandment was to trust God Exodus 3:12 – And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Exodus 20:3-4 – You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. Acts 2:13 – But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” Acts 2:41 – So those received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls The intimacy with God that Moses had on Sinai is offered to every believer at Pentecost Galatians 3:24 - the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ (NASB) The Law brought an external compliance but the Gospel brings internal change Acts 2:37-38a - Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized…” RSVP here for the 8am Easter Service
