Seeing is Not Believing (vs. 27-28) 27 And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.” 28 When he entered the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them,“Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to him, “Yes, Lord.” Miracles and Maturity (vs. 29-31) 29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, “See that no one knows about it.” 31 But they went away and spread his fame through all that district. Son of David or the Devil? (27, 32-34) 32 As they were going away, behold, a demon-oppressed man who was mute was brought to him. 33 And when the demon had been cast out, the mute man spoke. And the crowds marveled, saying, “Never was anything like this seen in Israel.” 34 But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the prince of demons.” Discussion Questions: When have you cried out for mercy to the Son of David? What was His response? How were you changed? In what ways has God touched you and brought light to your eyes? How have you learned to listen to God? What lessons have you learned about obedience? What amazes you about Jesus? What subversive evil tries to influence your thoughts on God? How do you see subtle evils influencing others? How about subtle goodness? Application: This week, reflect on the questions above and ask God to help you enter the opportunities He’ll place in your path to share your walk with Him with others. Anticipate being a source of mercy for someone.
