Prepare

The Weary World Rejoices

Riding on the coattails of what God did in the past and just waiting for something new to happen is spiritual negligence.

Biblical Principal: Our response to “Now What?” is not just to wait, but to prepare.

John 3:3-7 NLT “Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God…”

John 3:13-17 NLT “No one has ever gone to heaven and returned. But the Son of Man has come down from heaven. And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life…”

In order to receive the next good thing God has for us, we need to have a prepared heart.

Hebrews 11:6 NLT 'And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. '

John 3:27-30 NLT “...I am only here to prepare the way for him.’ It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the bridegroom’s friend is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”

The best way to prepare the way for God to bring the next good thing is to elevate him.

How do we elevate God?

1. We simply give him glory for all He’s given us so far

2. We posture our hearts in humility, reminding ourselves that nothing good we have comes from our own doing, but by God’s grace

3. We walk in obedience, and play our part
