Before God calls us to something, He calls us to something. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever experienced? beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but beauty captivates all eyes. The message of the altar is HOPE, and there is nothing more beautiful than hope. Exodus 20:24 NLT '“Build for me an altar made of earth, and offer your sacrifices to me—your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you. ' 1. Altar: Where human meets divine . John 1:29 NLT ‘The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’ Matthew 20:28 NLT 'For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” ' 2. The Cross was the altar. Romans 12:1 NIV 'Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. ' - Our sacrifice is not death on a CROSS, it’s death to OURSELVES. - What if we woke up everyday not just living to LIVE, but living to DIE? - We as people have become slaves to the God of JUSTICE, more than servants to the God of MERCY. - Mercy brings hope. Justice brings CONVICTION. - The altar is not a symbol of JUSTICE, it’s a symbol of HOPE. “God is not here to FIX you. He’s here to HEAL you.” - Will Chung Moments are FINE, patterns are BETTER. 3.
