Introduction: Verses 29-30 describe what many theologians refer to as the Golden Chain of our salvation. This chain of events, all linked together, began in eternity past in the foreknowledge of God before even the foundations of the world were laid and it extends under the sovereign direction of God into eternity future where we will be glorified. From foreknowing us to predestining us to calling us to justifying us and even through to the final glory, God’s hand is in it all. It is because of this that we can rest assured in His promise of full and complete salvation. 29a For whom He foreknew – 29b He also predestined – 29c to be conformed to the image of His Son – 29d that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
