Acts 6:1-8 and 1 Timothy 3:8-14

Introduction- As we prepare for deacon nominations, we will look at the role and qualifications for deacons today.

Acts 6:1-6

• A deacon should be a believer.

• A deacon is to be especially regarding the role he is given.

• A deacon must be and to do the task he is appointed to do.

• A deacon should be a source of and not division.

1 Timothy 3:8-13

• A deacon is a person because of their Christian character.

• A deacon is to be a of the faith.

• A deacon advances the work of God through and not deceptive methods.

• A deacon does not allow anything to become a that controls them or an obstacle that hinders an effective ministry or even a stumbling block to other people.

• A deacon knows that the greatest gain is found in to others and not sordid gain.

• A deacon understands the and holds to it sincerely and faithfully.

• A deacon should not be a believer or new unknown church member.

• A deacon leads such an exemplary life that no one can bring a against him.

• A deacon’s wife should be a help and not a to his work of service.

• A deacon should be a husband if he is married.

• The deacon's need to be in proper order.

• The deacon's needs to be in proper order.

• The good deacon can stand tall and for the faith.
