Introduction: We are in Romans 12:10 where Paul begins a list of 10 things. The heading of that list is from verse 9. That is love, genuine, self-sacrificing agape love, the love of God that sent His Son to die in our place, a love that clings to good and hates evil. That is the thing that is required above all but when we have that love in us then other things will flow from that love. That is what Paul is describing for us in this list.

10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another (NKJV)

10 Regarding brotherly love to one another, (let it be) the love of a parent to a child, regarding honoring each other, (be) leading the way by example. (PCMLV)

10a Regarding brotherly love to one another, (let it be) the love of a parent to a child,

• Here Paul is talking about the love that we have for brothers and sisters in .

• He says that we should love each other like a loves their child.

• How does the love of a parent to a child model for us the love we are to show one another in the body of Christ?

10b regarding honoring each other, (be) leading the way by example.

• The church values or honors its members for their God given gifts and abilities and the faith in which they use those gifts. While we know everyone brings something different to the table, we must recognize that we are needed and that this is not a , we are all working together towards a common goal.

• Paul tells us is that all of us are to be honoring others, leading by .
• How can we be an example to others in honoring others?
• Why is honoring and valuing people so important to the strength of the church?
